Introduction
The Master's Degree in Economic Development and International Cooperation trains its students as professionals in sustainable human development and international cooperation. Our focus is to know and understand poverty and development and how to intervene to accompany empowerment processes for disadvantaged communities. Learning is face-to-face and interactive: on-the-ground practices, teamwork, project-based and experiential learning play a central role. An essential element in the student's training process is the completion of an internship in organizations and NGDOs with development projects.
This Master has a duration of one academic year (60 ECTS) and seeks to develop the technical, political and social skills necessary for the student's incorporation into the labor market, being able to carry out their work in public and private institutions in developed and less developed countries. .

Justification
The current evolution of the world economy has revealed a profound asymmetry in the level of economic development of the countries. While the income level of a small group of countries has increased considerably in recent decades, a large group of countries continues to struggle to achieve income levels that allow them to meet their most pressing needs, being virtually excluded from economic circuits and international trade. The reasons for these disparities are multiple and complex, and it is essential to investigate the possible causes and policy solutions that the economy offers to the situation of economic stagnation in Third World countries.
On the other hand, the international community, aware of these differences, has designed a complex system of cooperation that annually mobilizes a large amount of human and financial resources aimed at reducing these disparities.
At present, the international geopolitical and economic context has changed substantially, which has resulted in the aid policy objectives of donor countries having been modified and adapted to new trends, including among their objectives new topics such as development. human or sustainable development.
From this new framework emerges a novel conception of development which is now explained not only by economic arguments but also by the interaction of social and environmental aspects. The economy is no longer the main determinant of development and shares the leading role with other sciences, which forces us to review the role it plays in the development process.
