MSc in Econometrics and Management Science with a Specialisation in Econometrics whether you wish to examine to what extent government policies affect individual decision-making, how to model and predict economic recessions, or estimate the probability of a total failure of the Dutch power network, this program will help you to do so. It will not only provide you with in-depth knowledge of econometric theory but will also perfect your skills to use advanced quantitative methods and techniques, perform empirical econometric analysis, and develop and apply new models.

The MSc Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies(EORAS) uses mathematical and statistical models to analyse problems in business, economics, finance, insurance, and related areas. We address questions such as: How will future employment ratios develop in Europe? How much influence will petrol prices have on car usage? What is the minimal route length to deliver large amounts of parcels? How to calculate a fair premium for a new insurance product? These questions have in common that they use mathematical modelling and data science in a decision-making process. You will learn how to construct appropriate models, to apply these models with real-life data and (statistical) software, and to design and implement computer algorithms to evaluate the decisions. Importantly, you also learn how to give proper (economic) interpretations of the outcomes of the analysis.

Our MSc in Economics (Econometrics and Big Data) will help you build on your undergraduate studies to develop advanced capabilities in the discipline with an emphasis on quantitative techniques and their applications using big data. This program trains you in the field of Analytics and Operations Research where advanced quantitative methods are used and developed to aid better decision-making. You also learn how to apply the skills and knowledge in multiple application areas such as Logistics where the goal is to optimally design, plan, and control logistics systems.

The need for quantitative support to optimize operational and strategic decision-making continues to increase. The Business Analytics and Quantitative Marketing program focuses on the most creative side of data science: developing models and techniques to convert big data into knowledge, find opportunities, and predict behavior. Such models and techniques originate from statistics, econometrics, machine learning, or computer science.
