For electrical engineering, the beginning of the third millennium has brought not only rapid growth but constantly rising demands for innovative and modern structural systems, as conventional mechatronic approaches increasingly reach their technical and economic feasibility limits.

Moving products and materials from point A to point B isn’t as easy as it used to be. Tighter deadlines, fear of disruptions, globalization, changing technology, and more. And with its interruptions of so many moving parts, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical and complex nature of logistics in global supply chains—and how much our world relies on them.

The aim of the master’s study programme “Physics” is to prepare highly qualified and internationally competitive master-level physics specialists for the labour market, providing an opportunity to specialise in sub-disciplines of physics specific to Latvia with high research and innovation potential and stimulating the acquisition of interdisciplinary competence during studies. University of Latvia offers specializations in solid state and material physics, physics of continuous media, atomic, molecular and optical physics, theoretical physics as well as a list of interdisciplinary courses related to quantum computing, physical chemistry, etc. The program is organized in collaboration with Daugavpils University (located in Daugavpils, Latvia), which offers the specialization in technology physics.

The aim of the master's study programme "Technological innovations and design for education" is to promote development of students' academic and professional competence and competitiveness in the field of education, innovative and research activities, change management, pedagogical activities and to motivate for further academic growth by acquiring and creating new pedagogical and design solutions for technology-enhanced learning in educational organizations and companies providing educational services.

Graduates of the study program can work in various state, non-governmental and private institutions - diplomatic missions of Latvia and other countries, various Latvian and European institutions, including translation, universities and schools, research institutions, mass media and advertising agencies, editorial offices, libraries, language training centers, travel agencies, Latvian and world companies of various profiles, etc.

This study programme seeks to provide an opportunity for an in-depth understanding of English studies from literary, linguistic and language acquisition perspectives and the ability to undertake independent research.

The programme concentrates on more detailed aspects of international economics, marketing, management and finance. The programme provides practical knowledge and training for future business executives.

The study programme offers in-depth studies of international economic relations, paying special attention to the theoretical and applied problems of international economics and economic diplomacy. Students will develop analytical abilities and in-depth understanding of political, social and economic changes in Europe, as well as skills to identify the causes and consequences of these changes.

The program prepares highly qualified specialists who can work at regional, national and international level. Students will be able to understand and develop epidemiological, medical and sociological research methodology, to perform sophisticated statistical analyses of obtained data, and to interpret observed results based on newest international knowledge and according to internationally accepted standards.

The study programme prepares higher-level managers in education, teachers- supervisors and mentors in any field of education. The programme offers two modules: Educational Management; Teaching and Learning for Competence.

Anthropology is becoming increasingly relevant given shrinking distances in terms of global mobility, intensification in migration and ever-increasing inter-cultural contact. Further, once seemingly homogenous local societies display increasing inner diversity. The study programme helps students develop a thoroughly anthropological approach to the themes of self and agency, gender, state and power, borders/migration, consumerism, art/performance.
