The programme is accredited by the BPS and therefore provides the first stage in a training process towards becoming a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist.

In this MSc Clinical Exercise Science course, you’ll be equipped with practical and professional skills in fitness assessment and exercise interventions, such as medical management, exercise prescription and behaviour change. You’ll develop your understanding of key clinical applications, including the relationship between exercise and chronic disease, the psychological effects of exercise and the importance of testing, and put this into practice through physiological assessments.

Graduate Institute of Athletics and Coaching Science was created in 2012 following the merger between the Graduate Institute of Coaching Science (created in 1994) and Graduate Institute of Sport Training Science (created in 2003). The aim of the Institute is to foster excellent coaches and to train students studying in coaching science.

The Master's Degree in Health and Sports Psychology is a new academic program that offers different health professionals the possibility of working in the field of physical activity, whether in sports or in promoting physical exercise. Likewise, this proposal is aimed at providing useful elements of psychology for other university professionals linked to physical activity and sport within the framework of health.

Therefore, the Specialist in Physical Activity and Sports Psychology will develop specific capacity, among other aspects, in that: Evaluate the psychological characteristics in the practice of sport and physical activity, according to the specific discipline. Determine the requirements of the psychological characteristics of the subject who practices, guides, or judges sports and physical activities, according to the evaluation processes carried out. Support the subject who practices, guides, or judges sports or physical activities in the control of the psychophysical variables that impact their performance. Guide the planning, direction, administration, and control of projects and programs of physical and sports activity in accordance with comprehensive development policies.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1994 to train Physical Education Teachers after Erzincan Education Institute was transformed into the Faculty of Education in 1992. Our department provides 4-year undergraduate education. In addition to the teaching staff of the Ministry of National Education, our graduates have the opportunity to find employment in Higher Education Institutions, Special Education Institutions, organizations affiliated to the General Directorate of Youth and Sports and sports-related fields. The language of education in our department is Turkish.
