Cologne University of Applied Sciences

Introduction

Its roughly 22,500 students and four campuses in three cities make Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) the largest of its kind in Germany. However, size is not the only factor that distinguishes CUAS from most other German universities of applied sciences: Academic diversity, broad research activities, and an international focus are our strong suit. Cologne University of Applied Sciences considers itself a modern type of higher-education institution, as it is capable of supporting doctoral studies in stellar programs. At the same time, we place a strong emphasis on practical experience for our students in all disciplines. Cologne University of Applied Sciences is a member of UAS7 – the strategic alliance of seven outstanding universities of applied sciences in Germany – and a charter member of the North Rhine-Westphalia University Innovation Alliance. In addition, it is a full member of the European University Association (EUA). CUAS is no stranger to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): It has been certified as a family-friendly university and an institution with a strong focus on the environment in accordance with the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) as well as ISO 14001.

Cologne University of Applied Sciences cultivates close relationships not only within the German academic landscape but also on an international level. We currently boast partnerships with around 290 universities abroad and foster student mobility via a wide range of study/stay-abroad programs and funding options. Cologne University of Applied Sciences offers several Master's programs taught entirely in English. One-third of our international students come from overseas: Africa, the Americas, Asia or Australia.
