Designed to align with PMI and IPMA/APM standards, the MSc Project Management familiarises students with the most recognisable standards in Project Management. It equips students with the skills to pursue certification with either Project Management standard after graduation. The PMI/IPMA methods are flexible and fit a wide range of organisations and goals, lending itself to the Change Management focus of this programme. The programme also introduces students to the PRINCE2 framework.

Students of our MSc Project Management will have the option to follow a route to become a specialist project manager or to focus on strategic change management. The Strategic Change Management pathway will explore the human side of Project Management: transitioning individuals, teams, and organisations from the current state to a desired future state. Most project management work involves organisational change that requires careful management. Successful organisational change requires attention to the people involved (including selection and training, the human implications of resourcing, stakeholder management, etc.), while also bringing technology and finance along on the journey. Understanding these aspects of project management can provide valuable context for a student's or graduate's professional Project Management work.
