- Featuring a series of lectures and opportunities for students to create their own radio and television programmes and blogs, take photographs, edit videos, cover sports events and make video reports.
- Students shall hold open discussions with sports personalities and prominent media professionals. Thanks to role-play exercises, students shall be exposed to real-life experiences faced by professionals in sports reporting: press conferences, interviews, communication strategies in the event of crisis and more.
- This programme has a cross-platform approach, training students in journalistic work covering areas such as:
- Print journalism. Key aspects of print and digital sports media production, showing students the techniques and challenges needed to write engaging chronicles and articles, always acting in accordance with the code of ethics of the journalism profession.
- Television and sport. Methods and specific techniques in the broadcasting of sporting events, including interviews, anchoring, editing and production of specialised content for audiovisual platforms.
- Sports radio. The creation of a weekly radio programme shall guide students through programme production, technical basics, presentation, interviews and radio commentary of sporting events.
- Digital journalism and social networks. New technology applications in sports journalism are transforming the industry and opening up new business opportunities. A multiplatform approach is a must in the business, and this is reflected throughout our programme.
- Communication management in sports organisations. Students are taught how to master the key aspects of managing the press and communication department of a sports organisation (club, federation, agency, etc.). They’ll understand the fundamental aspects of its communication and decision-making strategies, considering the implication of any approach when working with sports personalities and the media. Students shall constantly reflect on the sports environment—a vital element when deciding communication policies.
