STUDIES AT TALTECH:

TalTech offers 4 Bachelor’s and 12 Master’s programmes (in English) in the following fields:

● Information Technologies (including Cyber Security and e-Governance)

● Business and Governance (including MBA, Law, and Technology Governance)

● Engineering

● Maritime Sciences

All programmes are internationally recognized and provide high-quality education by combining in-depth study and creative labs. Thus, you can get the best hands-on experience for your education and career.

Studies for the EU/EEA citizens are tuition-free (except for at the School of Business and Governance). In addition, a number of scholarships are available. In 2024, a record sum of half a million euros is given out by the TalTech Development Fund to support the studies of our students.

Founded in 1918, TalTech is ranked in top 3% of world's best universities (QS World University Rankings). It is the only university of technology in Estonia and accommodates around 10,000 students, out of which 14% are international students from over 100 different countries.

Admission start and deadlines

  • February 1st, 2024 – Admission opens
  • April 1st, 2024 – Application deadline for non-EU citizens
  • May 1st, 2024 – Application deadline for citizens from OECD member states, Georgia, Ukraine, and non-EU candidates who are residing in Estonia on a legal basis
  • June 1st, 2024 – Application deadline for citizens from EU/EEA countries and Switzerland
  • August 1st, 2024 – Application deadline for Finnish, Latvian, and Lithuanian citizens applying for programmes of the School of Business and Governance

Campus Features

Our dormitories have a total of approximately 2200 accommodation places. Most of our buildings are located in TalTech campus, in close vicinity of university building. The dormitories offer the best accommodation during your studies! Most of our dormitories are located near university buildings, just 5 to 7 minutes walk away.

    Description

    TalTech provides student counselling services to help students to be successful in their studies. The center offers information, counselling, training, consultation, and cooperation, as well as career counselling and psychological counselling in order to support those students who are experiencing study-related and personal difficulties. TalTech library is located in the centre of the university campus, making it a convenient spot for studying and relaxing between lectures. It offers five hundred different reading and study places and provides computers for its users on each floor. At the campus you can also find printing, copying and scanning services, as well as Bank ATM, lockers, self-service laundry, cafeterias and canteens.

    Scholarships and Funding

    TalTech offers a range of scholarships for international students from EU, EEA and outside, who want to do their bachelor's and master's programmes at Tallinn University of Technology. The EU/EEA citizens are exempt from tuition fees if admitted to any engineering, IT or science programme. All citizens applying for bachelor's programmes in English are eligible for a number of tuition waiver and performance scholarships, as well as a scholarship for medal winners of international subject proficiency olympiads. Applicants to master's programmes are also eligible for a number of tuition waiver and performance scholarships, as well as Estonian national scholarship. Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also offers a scholarship to applicants to certain master's programmes in English.

    Every faculty in TalTech has its own student council. Student councils stand up for the well-being of the students in their faculty, as well as keep them informed, ensuring that each year is memorable. They are in active contact with the dean’s offices and they organise events for the students. TalTech students do not need to go to the city centre in search of fun. Instead, they can find it in the TalTech Student House! The student house is a good place to spend your free time to study or you can rent rooms for various occasions. Our rooms are meant to be used for organising conferences, workshops, parties, or gatherings, or for studying or group work. Among some of the famous student events are: International Dinner, Opening Bash, Summer Games and more. There is also a number of local and international organisations available for students to join. Among them: ESN, AEGEE, BEST, Formula Student Team, Marketing Club, Robotics Club, Debate Society and more.
