Curriculum
The curriculum components of MPFS consist of required subjects, elective subjects, research and thesis entirely includes minimum credits which are 40 credits. Students are required to take 28 credits of the compulsory units including the thesis. Students are required to take 12 credits of elective units. Students registered in MPFS could take the subject which supports their interest/Major such as Forest Management, Silviculture, Forest Resources Conservation, and Forest Products Technology.
The modules/courses are structured to allow students to reach PLOs, define an individual study and thesis focus, and complete the degree without exceeding the program duration. The modules describe Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) as well as how teaching and learning are conducted, measured, and evaluated.
Continuous review of modules is conducted at least twice a year by the teaching and learning commission to ensure that all module content and their LOs are aligned with the concept and LOs of the program. The latest research results and student feedback are taken into account in the teaching process as part of the module updating process. These processes are supported as most of the lecturers are also researchers. Student feedback is obtained twice per semester after midterms and final exams.
The elective modules are intended to promote student achievement of PLOs. When deciding on elective modules, students are advised by their academic/thesis supervisors. This mechanism ensures that elective modules assist students in defining their individual study and thesis focus, as well as achieving the intended competence level of the MFS degree. This advising mechanism is detailed in the Academic Handbook.
