Introduction
The Master’s Degree in Human-centered Artificial Intelligence, classified under Class LM-55, is jointly organized by the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Pavia, and the University of Milan, with the administrative headquarters at Milano-Bicocca.
Human-centred artificial intelligence represents a new paradigm that is currently the focus of research and development at major companies and prestigious international research centres in the U.S. and Europe. The idea is to shift AI from "stand-alone" applications designed to replace humans to interactive systems where human and machine intelligence collaborate to overcome each other’s limitations.
The goal of the master's degree program is to train professionals capable of supporting the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the professional world, ensuring its responsible use within human contexts. The program emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary skills, combining technical expertise with an understanding of strategic goals, ethical considerations, legal constraints, cognitive biases, and other psychological and social factors. This approach aims to create professionals who can bridge the gap between the hard skills of developers and the soft skills necessary to deploy AI responsibly in real-world situations.
