Introduction

The Master's Degree in Global Studies addresses the questions of our contemporary era, as globalization is a process of constant change and evolution. It is also a historical process, which students will learn about through this Master's degree.

The Master's in Global Studies has an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on economics, politics, law, history, culture, and science, to understand today's global world and the changes and interactions between territories in the political, cultural, social, and economic spheres. This allows for the identification of current strategic problems and the political implications of ideas, thought, cultural diversity, and economic processes from the past to the present. These aspects are analyzed from a diachronic and comparative perspective. It includes analyses of the European, Asian, American, and African worlds.

This Master's in Global Studies is at the forefront of European and Spanish studies and is designed with distinct electives in social sciences, science, and humanities. In other words, Global Studies brings together various sciences to study a complex topic whose analytical results can only be approached from an interdisciplinary perspective, which helps to better understand all its aspects.

The Master's program aims to achieve high employability and adapt to the demands of today's society to create greater justice, tolerance, and knowledge among students so they can be agents of change.

The ultimate goal of the Master's program is to acquire the skills necessary to understand the globalization process and address, with different approaches and perspectives, the challenges of the contemporary world, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the society of the future.

Objectives

The Master's degree provides training in political and historical analysis, public policies and work in economic, legal, political, social or cultural institutions.

  • Knowing how to analyze data and propose arguments and solutions to the issues that concern us today on topics that concern the global world
  • Knowing how to identify and manage the scientific, technical or ethical problems of our contemporary society and provide solutions in the various fields of knowledge through research and the implementation of specific programs
  • Knowing how to operate in the international arena to create synergies and enhance collaboration between entities and people
  • Transmit information about Global Studies, disseminate and adapt to different audiences
  • Contribute from the knowledge of current society and historical processes to the resolution of problems of global society

Specific Objectives

  • Analyze and understand the processes that have led to globalization and the creation of a society that advocates freedom and human rights, as well as the defense of nature and coexistence.
  • Knowing how to implement specific policies or activities that help maintain these guidelines
  • To understand, from an interdisciplinary perspective, these processes that lead to defining the future of a global society

All these objectives are aimed at a research training solid. To this end, the subject “Methodology of Analysis of Global Studies” offers an introduction to research, essential for the academic orientation of the Master's degree. In addition, students who wish to acquire practical experience They can opt for the subject “External Academic Internships”, available as an optional subject.
