To give opportunities to widen the scope of working population with graduate-level education, UBD is introducing graduate programmes that students can take either from the workplace or home, at their own pace and through different pathways. With a work-integrated learning approach and the use of technology, these more effective and efficient programmes will be offered at Master level starting from August 2017.
International Students
In the beginning, UBD opened its door to international students which constitutes of mainly ASEAN students. The diversity expanded today with more coming in from East Asia (China and Japan), Europe, Africa and the Mid-East.
A variety of undergraduate, graduate and research programmes are offered at UBD, while shorter programmes are also available such as The Global Discovery Programme and Language Programmes. English is the main medium of instruction at UBD and widely spoken in Brunei Darussalam. The degree programmes offered, therefore, provide opportunities for international students to access future employment globally. This environment also provides international students with the avenue to learn English throughout their study and daily life, making it easier for them to make friends and socialise.
UBD is such a friendly environment and international students will feel at home with the array of clubs and things to do. There are also a variety of programmes to ensure the transition of new students into UBD through The International Student Service Unit of Student Affairs Section.
English Language Requirements
For all programmes, applicants must have at least a credit 6 in the English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level Examination or a grade ‘B’ in IGCSE English (as a Second Language) or an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL minimum overall score of 550.
