The Department of Foreign Literatures and Linguistics offers an MA in English Literature. All tracks are designed to take two years. The English Literature programs offer either a thesis (research) track or a non-thesis (general) track. Additionally, the goal of the thesis track is that students conduct original research and contribute to scientific knowledge.

M.A. in Linguistics programs offer either a thesis (research) track or a non-thesis (general) track. It is two-year Programs. To expose students to current research topics in the field and engage students in academic discourse, research methodologies and critical reasoning

The M.A. in Israel Studies Program integrates historical and contemporary perspectives and focuses on the emergence of Zionist ideology and the global Jewish people, the pre-state communities under Ottoman and British rule, and the State of Israel.

The MA in African Studies is a year-and-a-half-long Program (three semesters). The first year is dedicated to formal study and coursework at BGU. Students must finish their required and electives classes over the course of two semesters during this first year. During the third semester, students must spend a minimum of three months on a local project in Africa.
