The MA/MFA Performance is an exciting master's program that offers a practical, versatile, and interdisciplinary approach to performance-making and training. The MFA in Acting is rooted in a conservatory approach to acting. The program provides immersive training in multiple mediums, preparing actors for film, television, stage, and musical theater productions. Students will hone a diverse set of professional skills in voice, speech, movement, improvisation, classical theater, and audition techniques. Students will graduate from the program equipped with an industry-ready demo reel showcasing the actor’s ability to work in front of a camera with a professional crew on a sound stage. The MFA portfolio will also include a personalized marketing strategy exhibiting the actor’s preparedness to compete successfully in the entertainment industry.

Theatre for Young Audiences is a practical training program for performers and makers from a range of disciplines, that explores approaches to making work for, by, and with children and young people. Underpinning the course is the ambition to define Theatre for Young Audiences as a cutting-edge arts practice, outside (or perhaps alongside) the Applied Theatre framing that so often dominates this area of training, encouraging co-creative processes that balance the sensibilities of the adult artist and the creative voice of children and young people.

MA Musical Theatre: Acting and Performance Our MA Musical Theatre: Acting and Performance course is an intensive, one-year training program designed around the key musical theatre skills of acting, singing, and dance/movement. At the heart of the course is a focus on acting skills for musical theatre both in sung and spoken text.

This twelve-month, intensively taught practice-based Masters is aimed at artists and graduates working within the field of artists’ film and moving image who wish to develop their practice and professional networks with the support of Goldsmiths' Art Department and its uniquely high concentration of accomplished artist filmmakers.

The MA Screen Acting course offers students consolidated, bespoke, and advanced training for actors with existing experience in acting and/or performance. You will learn to deliver strong performances within a demanding and competitive industry, taking advantage of industry advancements to explore new technology alongside traditional forms of production.

Voice Studies courses at Central are nationally and internationally renowned, giving a specialised education in the study and practice of the spoken voice. These courses are for graduates of appropriate disciplines who wish to follow a career in voice teaching and who seek specialised study and practice in voice and speech.

The Authorial Acting Program at DAMU comes out of the humanist and dialogical traditions. It views performance first and foremost as creative public behavior. We cultivate psychosomatic condition, i.e. creativity of body, voice and of mind in real-time by exploring the ability of being in a public situation through the lenses of different disciplines such as movement, voice, speech and theatre performance. Students are encouraged to go beyond traditional forms of theatre, crossing boundaries and drawing on personal experiences in fields like education, social work and psychology.

The UMKC Master of Fine Arts program in Acting is a rigorous conservatory experience that provides advanced training for the young professional actor. Over the course of three years, the program challenges actors to develop the varied skills necessary to achieve success. Fundamental to the training is an exposure to a diverse set of performance methods from contemporary to epic, from devised work to Shakespeare, from the Greeks to new plays commissioned and premiered by us.

Our programme is for practising artists with an interest in interdisciplinary artistic situations. We examine the artist’s interaction with the surrounding community and aspects related to location and dramatic structure in artistic work. You apply with an investigative project that you develop through the entire programme.

This master's degree aims to encourage research in both the theoretical and practical areas of theater and performing arts based on new contemporary theories and practices, as well as promoting the exchange of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary artistic experiences of artistic production. Graduates of the Master's in Theater and Performing Arts will obtain a plural training that will allow them to act as artists and professionals in performing disciplines as well as consolidate themselves as researchers of the same.

The acting program is a three-year, minimum 60-credit-hour professional actor-training program interacting with the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, a professional Equity League of Resident Theatres (LORT) B Theatre.
