European Master in Animal Breeding and Genetics

The program objectives are to train students to become researchers in the field of genetics and breeding and eventually become independent plants and animal breeders, based on their in-depth genetic understanding.

The Animal and Human Interaction program offers an opportunity to apply modern knowledge, methods and technologies in animal and human interaction practice, deal with challenges arising from constant changes in the human-animal relationships, empowers graduates to carry out independent analysis of problems associated with therapeutic animals and evaluate its results. The goals of this program are to educate students to take on responsibility for shaping the human-animal relationships in science and society, both scientifically and ethically.

The Master's Degree Course aims to obtain a professional figure specialized in the management of animal production systems within a circular economic approach. This goal is achieved by combining specific skills in the field of animal metabolism, its multiple connections with the issues of animal efficiency and health, and advanced notions on the circular management of intensive production.

The educational objectives of the curriculum in Animal nutrition and feed safety include the development of animal nutrition experts, whose skills include a solid background and comprehension in animal feeding and nutrition, completing the knowledge acquired during the university's first degree.

The program is designed to build capacity among our learners in the application of science and technology in feed processing, feed formulation, and dietary manipulation to influence product quality, health status, and nutrient losses to the environment.

The main objective of the Master’s Degree in Zootechnics is to contribute to the scientific and technological development in this field of knowledge, increasing efficiency and sustainably establishing animal production. Other specific objectives of the program are: Research: develop the main animal production systems in the region influenced by the program; identify the main problems which need scientific and technological development; bring technological development to the region through scientific actions. Class education: develop professionals at a Master’s level so that they can meet the demands of (private and public) education institutions concerning teaching, research, and community outreach in the field of Science and Animal Technology. Community outreach: promote inter-institutional and multidisciplinary actions of applied research, approaching not only problem diagnosis but also scientific solutions for issues regarding animal production systems in the region.

Animal and plant breeding are driving the development of new livestock and crop varieties that can cope with the challenges of the changing environment and consumers' demand. The International Master Program Integrated Plant and Animal Breeding provides a profoundly interdisciplinary approach to breeding research by bridging the gap between animal and plant breeding; covers all relevant disciplines of breeding research; and is supplemented by external lecturers from leading international breeding companies, research institutions, and national authorities.

The course is delivered at University Centre Myerscough and awarded by the University of Central Lancashire. The MSc Animal Science develops a systematic understanding and a critical awareness of current issues at the forefront of animal science.

The Inter-Institutional Master's Degree in Livestock Production (MIPPE) is proposed as a research-oriented program that seeks in its students to develop basic and applied research skills that lead to the solution of livestock production problems, considering beef-producing bovines, dairy-producing bovines, sheep, goats, poultry (broilers and laying hens) and pigs.
