IMAgein programme is designed to achieve the ambitious vision of an innovative, inclusive and globally competitive and attractive two-years joint Master programme to generate added value to knowledge and research, by delivering innovation with societal impact, and therefore contribute to tackle the health negative consequences associated to the European demographic change towards an increasing share of aged population.

This joint Masters programme in Marine Biotechnology is an integrated multidisciplinary programme offered within the framework of one of the first transnational European universities. The programme provides the student with a high-quality academic education, building professional competences in the area of marine biotechnology (also called blue biotechnology) and helping to address its global challenges.

Obtaining and developing new varieties, together with the associated activities, are one of the fields of technology with the greatest future prospects. The combination of conventional selection methods with new biotechnologies for the development of new materials that allow sustainable agriculture and the obtaining of higher quality products adapted to the new demands of society are and will be fields in continuous expansion. in both the private and public sectors for decades to come.

The master's degree Biological Anthropology is intended to provide holders of degrees in experimental sciences and the humanities with up-to-date training in human biodiversity, its origin, evolution and the biomedical implications. The program responds to the growing demand for specialists in the area of human biology and physical anthropology, contributing knowledge and methodologies pertaining to this area of specialization and related areas (e.g., physiology, genetics, zoology, medicine, archaeology).

Animal genetic improvement not only contributes to the sustainability of productions and increases their profitability, but also allows, through new technologies, to improve their efficiency and adapt them to the divergent demand of consumers. Thus, population and quantitative genetics, molecular genetics and reproductive biotechnology are currently basic subjects in livestock development.

The main objective of the master's degree in Advanced Microbiology is to provide students with the academic and technical training that will enable them to embark on a research career in this field or to gain employment as microbiologists. In addition, it focuses particularly on providing students with comprehensive multidisciplinary training, attaching special importance to experimental work in clinical laboratories, universities or research centres under the supervision of a lecturer or specialist (this accounts for a third of the total credit load)
