The Department of Foreign Literatures and Linguistics offers an MA in English Literature. All tracks are designed to take two years. The English Literature programs offer either a thesis (research) track or a non-thesis (general) track. Additionally, the goal of the thesis track is that students conduct original research and contribute to scientific knowledge.

The two-year program, housed in the Department of English Literature and Linguistics at Bar-Ilan University, offers an MA in English Literature with specializations in Literary Fiction, Poetry or Creative Nonfiction.

The MA in English Language and Literature focuses on narratives in relation to their literary and cultural contexts. The Master's track in European Literature and Interculturality is located at the Department of European Languages and Cultures. This international, interdisciplinary and multilingual environment offers excellent opportunities for research and immerses them in vibrant networks of experts across different European countries and languages. The following languages can be chosen as major languages: French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.

The Graduate Program in English and American Literature at Boston University provides comprehensive training in all areas of English studies. Coursework is offered in historical periods, individual authors, important literary movements, literary theory and the history of criticism, and philology and linguistics. Students develop a broad competence in all literary periods before moving to a more specialized knowledge of a single area or topic.

Taught in collaboration with the British Library, explore early modern literary texts through critical lenses such as race, ethnicity, gender, class, sexuality, religion and nationality, and acquire bespoke tools to study neglected texts and to decide why they matter, what key questions they can answer about the early modern period and our own time, and how they should be edited and re-presented to modern readers.

The English department emphasizes preparation for Ph.D. work and advanced training both for secondary education teachers and those for whom an M.A. in English would enhance career options.
