Sustainable and Autonomous Systems is a new master's programme to educate experts who can consider the needs and opportunities of sustainable development in autonomous systems.

As a student, you will have access to a multidisciplinary curriculum which integrates studies in science and technology; world class facilities for practical laboratory work; close collaboration with the chemical industry and different research units. The teaching and research in the degree program promotes the environmental society of tomorrow. The program is focused on the chemistry of sustainable processes and materials. The studies offer a wide range of education opportunities in science and technology and an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern experimental techniques. The degree programme contains advanced studies in different fields of chemistry: analytical, applied, inorganic, physical and/or organic chemistry. The programme also contains compulsory laboratory work and optional studies offered by other degree programmes in the Faculty of Technology. For instance, a student can include studies in the field of engineering – process engineering is a typical choice among many others – to further build their interdisciplinary study path.

The graduates will be experts in analytics who understand the needs of the business, industrial, and public organizations in regard to gathering, analyzing, and using digital data for decision-making, operations, and development work; be able to choose and deploy the relevant analytics theories and methods and they have gained experience in using tools and environments for solving real-life analytics problems; be able to search for, gather, and create research data and produce research reports based on scientific conduct in multi-disciplinary settings and different empirical contexts; have teamwork and project-based collaboration competencies, be able to solve problems for and with external stakeholders, and have good communication skills.

A new international degree program that strongly leans on long-standing national degree program in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE). The Master’s Degree Program in Electronics is a two-year program concentrating with wide spectrum on development of the electronics components, measurement technologies and applications for various areas in ICT technology.

MSc in Biochemistry at the University of Oulu has a strong focus on practical skills and the use of most modern equipment in protein expression and analysis. The student enrolled in the Biochemistry program can choose between two study lines, Protein Science and Biotechnology or Molecular Medicine.
