Why do some design projects that seem to have ticked all the right boxes simply fail to pass the test of the market? Does such a thing as a recipe for success even exist? The answer is no: there are no fool-proof recipes. What does exist are talent, energy, and a serious approach to designing, an understanding of the complexity of the world, and the ability to adapt models to suit it. Then there are tenaciousness, analysis, and learning: these are the things that do exist.

Master Programs in Design Studies Interior Design
A masters degree in interior design is a post graduate degree program that teaches students interior design; the art of changing the living workspace into a more effective setting, for everyday use. The aim is to make the resulting setting most attractive to everyone. The difference between interior designing and interior decorating is that interior designing plans the functionality and the usability of the available space while the interior decorating seeks to make the setting look appealing without as much regard to planning and the usability of the setting. Interior designing also deals with aspects such as lighting, acoustics and temperature.
Interior designers often specialize in certain areas as the field is wide. They analyze the knowledge related to their specialty. The program is relatively new and it focuses on the connection that exists between art and technical knowledge and the researching on people’s needs and preferences. The masters program teaches about space and the various aspects of space such as scale, configuration, light sources, colors, materials, and proportions and how these aspects are related to the technical performance of a setting. It does have similarities with architecture but while architecture deals with the design of the room, interior designing deals with what is in the room.
Graduates of a masters program in Interior Design can exercise their skills both in third sector businesses as well as in private sector as the vocation is on high demand in both business and by homeowners. Interior designers can become licensed practitioners after they complete the masters program and can often work in consultancy as consultants.
