Master of Mathematics program equips you with a command of numerical accuracy and versatility. You will not only be an all-around mathematician, but also a specialist in either pure or applied mathematics, able to analyze complex mathematical problems, design solutions, supervise their realization, and communicate mathematical concepts to fellow mathematicians and non-specialists alike.

The MSc in Mathematics provides students with a strong background in disciplines such as analysis, algebra, topology and modern applications in computational fields.

This one year taught postgraduate programme leads to the degree of MSc in Pure Mathematics. The programme is suitable not only for students who wish to improve their background knowledge prior to applying to undertake a PhD by research but also for students who wish to enhance their knowledge of postgraduate-level abstract mathematics. The MSc comprises of the taught component, running from the start of the academic year in September until the end of the second semester in late Spring, followed by the dissertation component running from June until September.

The MSc provides you with in-depth knowledge of algebra, number theory, group theory and analysis. Your interest in mathematical theorems will be fuelled by studying optional modules in topics ranging from Elliptic Curves to Linear Analysis.

The main aim of the program is to provide the students with effective knowledge that they can successfully apply both in mathematical modelling and in the solution of problems arising in practice.
