The Master of Science (Maritime Technology and Management) or MSc (MTM) seeks to train and equip graduates with key skillsets to enable next-generation port capabilities in Singapore, such as industrial systems development, big data analytics tools, and emerging port technologies (e.g., digitalization to train workers).

The Technology (Maritime Operations) MSc was developed in partnership with the Royal Navy and Kingston University. The programme accredits the learning achieved during professional naval branch training.

The MS in Ocean Engineering provides participants with a combination of engineering skills and strong scientific knowledge in the marine sciences, preparing them to address a variety of ocean-related engineering concerns (e.g. prepare coastal communities for a changing climate; port and harbor security; coastal observation networks; coastal infrastructure; etc.) in a rational and responsible manner.

The interdisciplinary study of maritime and information technology provides an understanding of digitalization in the maritime sector, but also the economic and environmental challenges of the maritime sector where processes could be improved with the help of information technology. The University of Rhode Island was the first institution in the nation to establish M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in ocean engineering. Graduate ocean engineering students can choose from a diverse group of courses in widely different ocean related subjects as a result of the broad and interdisciplinary background and research interests of the faculty.
