About Us

University of Pitești, Romania (UPIT) is a state higher institution founded in 1962. It has a non-profit character, it is apolitical and has academic autonomy, being a part of the national system of higher education. In 2018, the University of Pitești received the High Degree of Trust, offered by the Romanian Agency of Quality Assuring in Higher Education System (ARACIS)

University of Pitești collaborates with international partners from 200 universities from 39 (EU & non-EU countries) and it is member of several international prestigious professional associations, such as:

  • European University Association (EUA)
  • L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)
  • The Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC)
  • European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (EfVET)
  • The European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN)

University of Pitești is a regional university with didactic and research activity in five towns from the South-Muntenia Region: (AG), Câmpulung Muscel (AG), Râmnicu Vâlcea (VL), Slatina (OT) and Alexandria (TR).

University of Pitești is enrolling 10.000 students (400 are international students) in 55 bachelor’s programs, 58 master’s programs, 8 doctoral schools within the 6 faculties:

  2. Faculty of Mechanics and Technology
  3. Faculty of Electronics, Communications and Computers
  4. Faculty of Economics and Law
